Jamarion Wilcox arrested and charged with first-degree sexual abuse

It does not appear that clarity is coming anytime soon on Jamarion Wilcox‘s status as a Kentucky Wildcat. The sophomore running back has not played a game this season after being suspended for a violation of team rules amid an ongoing legal case, alleged to have committed sexual assault on August 20. At the time, Wilcox had not been charged with a crime, but a temporary protective order was filed against him.
That has now changed, as Wilcox has been officially arrested and charged with first-degree sexual abuse. He was taken into custody by University of Kentucky Police on Friday and booked at the Fayette County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.

Court documents obtained by The Courier Journal’s Ryan Black allege Wilcox was visiting a woman’s roommate when he walked into the woman’s room while she was sleeping and got “into my bed, without my consent.” The woman said Wilcox was naked and tried to “forcibly” open her legs. After she asked Wilcox where her roommate was, the petition alleges the running back proceeded “to laugh” and attempted “to start touching me again.”
Eventually, the victim ran out of the room and found her roommate. They proceeded to call 911. When police arrived, it took “at least 20 minutes” before they escorted him from the premises.

A hearing took place back on September 4 with another previously scheduled for November 3.
He has been officially ruled out for Kentucky against South Carolina this weekend in Columbia.
Wilcox was also scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 18 after being cited by Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control for four violations, unable to produce proof of rabies vaccinations or licenses for two dogs he owns. He’s also got a court date scheduled in January for allegedly “racing a vehicle” past a Kentucky State Trooper in Lancaster at a speed “unable to be measured by radar.”
Wilcox led the Wildcats in rushing last fall with 590 yards, but was surpassed on the depth chart this fall by Seth McGowan, Dante Dowdell, and Jason Patterson. Now, we await clarity on his long-term future in Lexington.
