Former Kentucky football players Jeremy Jarmon and Dusty Bonner will be replacing our old pal Freddie Maggard on the Countdown To Kickoff show prior to games this season. They will join Christi Thomas on the set each Saturday.
UK Athletics announced the news this evening, finally filling the position Maggard left open following his move to the Kentucky football staff. (We’re still not happy about it, Coach Stoops)
Jarmon, who played on the defensive line at Kentucky from 2006-2008 and is fourth in school history in total sacks with 17.5 sacks, is excited to fill some big shoes.
“Words can’t express how excited I am to be joining the Countdown To Kickoff show on the UK Sports Network,” Jarmon said. “I have admired the UK Sports Network team with Tom, Jeff, Dick, and Christi. I am honored to have been selected to contribute to the pregame excitement as we enter Mark Stoops’ sixth season at UK.”

Bonner, who played quarterback at Kentucky from 1997-1999 and led the SEC in total offense, passing yards, and efficiency his second year with the team, is also pretty hyped to join the club.
“I’m excited that football is back and I am blessed to have the opportunity to get to cover it with the likes of Tom, Jeff, Christi and Dick,” Bonner said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to talk some football with BBN.”
Get your ears ready, BBN. Five days till kickoff.
