Thursday is shaping up to be an important day for the 2023-24 Kentucky Basketball roster. We already knew that Somto Cyril, the 2024 four-star center primed to reclassify, would arrive on Kentucky’s campus tomorrow. He won’t be alone. Kyle Tucker is reporting that 2023 shooting guard Joey Hart will also begin his visit to Kentucky on Thursday.

We knew Hart, a Linton, Indiana native and Central Florida decommit, would visit campus at some point this week. Now, we have the day and it just so happens to be one in which the program is also entertaining another potential member of next season’s squad. That doesn’t feel like a coincidence.

Hart had reported offers from Ball State, Drake, Indiana State, Loyola-Chicago, Northwestern, and Wichita State before committing to UCF back in August. He signed with the Knights in November but was given a release in May. As a senior, he earned SISN Indiana Highschool Boys Player of the Year honors after averaging 23.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per contest while shooting 41% from three.

Hart took an unofficial visit to Indiana earlier this week. Texas and Rutgers are also among the schools reportedly interested. He has yet to receive an offer from Kentucky, but that could change very soon. Like, tomorrow. If so, a commitment may not be far behind.

Three-star small forward Jordan Burks was set to announce his decision earlier today but postponed until Monday. Even with the delay, it feels like next season’s roster is about to add some pieces, albeit young ones. If Burks, Cyril, and Hart all commit to Kentucky, the Cats will have eight freshmen and two sophomores on the roster. Decisions from Antonio Reeves and former Creighton forward Arthur Kalulma are still withstanding.
