The Minnesota Timberwolves front office is giving Johnny Juzang an opportunity to continue his NBA career.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Juzang and the Timberwolves have agreed to a one-year contract ahead of the 2025-26 season. Dane Moore, who covers the Wolves, reports it will be a training camp deal for Juzang, meaning the former Kentucky Wildcat will be competing for one of Minnesota’s final roster spots.

Juzang spent his first three professional seasons with the Utah Jazz before being waived in June. During the 2024-25 season, the 6-foot-7 wing averaged a career-high 8.9 points in 19.8 minutes per outing while shooting 37.6 percent from deep.

In Minnesota, Juzang will team up alongside another former ‘Cat, second-year guard Rob Dillingham, who is expected to take on a larger role in 2025-26 after a disappointing rookie campaign. He averaged 4.5 points in just 10.5 minutes per game in 2024-25. The Wolves will look for Dillingham, who was taken 8th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, to quickly assert himself as a reliable ball-handling and scoring option next to Anthony Edwards.

Juzang, 24, started his college career at Kentucky in 2019-20 as a rotation player off the bench. He averaged 2.9 points in 12.3 minutes per game as a Wildcat under John Calipari before transferring to UCLA. Juzang spent two seasons with the Bruins (2020-22), earning All-Pac 12 Second Team honors in 2021 and Third Team All-American honors in 2022. He ultimately went undrafted in 2022 and later ended up in Utah.

There’s a real chance Juzang ends up making Minnesota’s final roster. Having a capable outside shooter on the wing is never a bad thing in today’s NBA.
