NSD Surprise: JUCO OL Jordan Knox signs with Kentucky, Tyreek Jemison flips to Georgia
Kentucky is typically good for one surprise per year on national signing day. We all should have known that the junior college push late in the recruiting calendar would be the action that delivered the unexpected development.
Northwest Mississippi offensive guard Jordan Knox was a player that we were monitoring at KSR+ heading into today. UK and offensive line coach Eric Wolford purposefully kept this recruitment quiet. That led to a signature on Wednesday.
Jordan Knox (6-2, 325) was a former high three-star recruit in the 2023 cycle out of South Carolina. The offensive lineman was the No. 7 player in the Palmetto State committed to Northwestern during his junior season. During that year in Evanston, Pat Fitzgerald was fired and defensive coordinator David Braun was promoted to permanent head coach. Knox played in 10 games as a true freshman and drew three starting assignments (132 snaps). However, Knox redshirt during his second season in the Big Ten and the moved to Northwest Mississippi Community College in 2025. The junior college transfer had a quiet second recruitment and will arrive at UK as a redshirt junior with two years of eligibility remaining.
The work to rebuild the offensive line room again is underway.
Tyreek Jemison flips to Georgia
Part of the reason why Kentucky was looking for offensive guard help in the transfer portal market is because the program lost a commitment from four-star prospect Tyreek Jemison in October. Soon after that decision, Georgia emerged as the heavy favorite to land the Peach State recruit.

We had to wait until signing day for that flip to finally happen.
âGetting around the guys, being around the staff, and feeling the love this fall was big for me choosing Georgia,â Jemison told Rivals. âGeorgia is the standard in college football. What I see in Georgia is greatness â how they win, how many NFL guys they produce, how hard they play, and how much they help each other. Itâs something I want to be part of. Iâm not sure how anyone doesnât want to be part of it. Georgia has a great history and tradition.â
Kentucky lost one of their best prospect when Jemison left the class. Eric Wolford went to the JUCO market to find a replacement.
