Josh Hines-Allen launches campaign against cancer as his son, Wesley, battles leukemia

You may recall when former Kentucky football star Josh Hines-Allen introduced his young son, Wesley, to football fans watching the 2019 NFL Draft. Wesley was one of the stars of the entire night when his dad was drafted seventh overall by Jacksonville, a moment Hines-Allen shared with Wesley, then only 15 months old, by carrying him on stage to meet the commissioner.

Six years later, Hines-Allen shines another light on Wesley, now seven years old; however, this time, it is to announce Wesley’s leukemia diagnosis. Josh and his wife, Kaitlyn, shared a video to tell Wesley’s story and to thank his support circle for being there through difficult times. The Hines-Allens learned of Wesley’s diagnosis seven months ago after a trip to Disney.
Today, Wesley is “back to being a big brother” to his younger siblings, Julian and Vanessa. “We’re very grateful and just blessed to be in Jacksonville, to have like this unwavering support that we’ve received,” Kaitlyn said, as Wesley’s fight continues.
Josh added, “I know there’s families out there that’s dealing with this as well. No matter how long it’s gonna take, I think being present, being aware, being loving, being supportive–letting you know that there is still a life.”

“Four One For Hope”
The Hines-Allen family will launch a season-long campaign through their “Four One For All” charity, called “Four One For Hope,” to raise money and awareness for four organizations committed to fighting cancer: Nemours Children’s Health, the American Cancer Society, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville, and the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
