Josh Kattus Expands Kentucky's Large Footprint on the Allstate Good Works Team

The Allstate Good Works Team salutes college football’s top community servants. Kentucky regularly has representation on the 11-man team. Josh Kattus is joining that growing club.
The Kentucky tight end was selected to the 2025 Allstate Good Works Team on Tuesday. He is now a semifinalist for the Wuerrfel Award, an honor Courtney Love won in 2017. Fans can vote at ESPN.com/Allstate through Nov. 10 for one of 11 FBS honorees who will be named the 2025 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy recipient and serve as the Good Works Team captain, recognizing their leadership, performance, and impact off the field.
Folks who go the extra mile secure a spot on the Allstate Good Works Team. This Kentucky tight end has gone an extra mile or two or ten.
For example, his community service resume is still growing. He’s hosting a shoe drive this Thursday for Camp Horsin’ Around, a group that helps special needs kids connect with nature by organizing outdoor activities. You can hang out with Kattus and Cutter Boley and help a good cause from 6-8 PM at the Landsdowne Shoppes.
Kattus has participated in “Dancing with the Lexington Stars,” he volunteers with the Scott County Humane Society, the Lexington Ronald McDonald House, and is a weekly volunteer at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital.

“Josh has been such a positive light to pediatric cancer and blood disorder patients in the DanceBlue Clinic,” said Jordan Heflin, an oncology RN at the DanceBlue Clinic.
”He is a very consistent volunteer, coming almost every Tuesday for the past three years. He is always happy to sit and play with a kid, sign an autograph, or take a picture. I am amazed at his commitment to bringing joy to these patients. Josh is a great football player, but I believe that he is an even better guy. I am so thankful that he continues to give back to these patients. A lot of the kids can’t go out to football games because of their treatments, but at least when they watch on TV, they can say that they know No. 84.”
