Just tell me the halftime score, Big Z

Jack PIlgrimby:Jack Pilgrim•01/20/24

You know why you’re here. Nothing else matters. Big Z has 11 points on 3-3 from three and 4-4 overall, the most ridiculous debut in the history of basketball. He’s also got three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals in eight minutes.

Yeah, you read that correctly. No, you’re not dreaming. It’s real life.

He started with a block at the rim, then ridiculous behind-the-back pass to Antonio Reeves for the three. And then the 7-2 forward went nuclear, going back-to-back-to-back-to-back on makes from deep. One was later changed to a two, but who cares?

It’s all something out of a movie.

An all-time Rupp Arena moment.

Overall, Kentucky leads 54-35 at the half with the Cats shooting 64.5% from the field, 58.3% from three and 87.5% at the line, arguably the most impressive half of the season. They’re allowing just 37.9% from the field and 27.3% from three.

As impressive as Ivisic has been, Antonio Reeves has gone for 14 points on 5-8 shooting with three assists to lead the way. Aaron Bradshaw, DJ Wagner and Reed Sheppard have added six apiece, followed by Tre Mitchell with four, Justin Edwards with three and Rob Dillingham and Ugonna Onyenso with two.
