Karter Knox‘s recruitment is coming to a close.

According to multiple reports, Knox, a four-star class of 2024 small forward, will announce his college decision on Saturday, March 9. The announcement will happen during halftime of Game 2 of Overtime Elite’s Finals, which is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. EST. Knox plays for OTE’s Rod Wave Elite (RWE), which takes on the City Reapers in Game 1 of the Finals on Friday night.

Knox is down to four finalists: Kentucky, Louisville, South Florida, and a return to Overtime Elite. He has taken visits to all three colleges. The 6-foot-6 wing is considered the No. 20 overall high school senior in the country by the On3 Industry Ranking.

Knox’s recruitment has been down to these four options for a while now. There are clear ties to all of them, as well.

With Kentucky, the connection is with his older brother Kevin Knox, who won SEC Freshman of the Year during his lone season in Lexington before becoming a lottery pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. With Louisville, it’s his family’s relationship with head coach Kenny Payne, who was an assistant at UK while Kevin Knox was on the roster.

“They really just want me,” Knox said of Kentucky in a recent interview with On3. “They think they can make me a one-and-done, and go to the pros. They think they can really develop my game and they think I fit in their style of play. (John Calipari) really loves me and the coaching staff really loves me. When I went there, it was really like a basketball city. Kentucky, that’s really all they got. The fans are crazy for Kentucky and the stadium will be packed damn near every game.”

Even South Florida holds family ties. Another one of Knox’s older brothers, Kobe Knox, is a sophomore for the Bulls averaging 8.7 points per game. South Florida (23-5) is currently ranked for the first time in school history under first-year head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim.

Then there’s Overtime Elite, which is where Knox has played all of his senior season. He’s averaging 23.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 31.4 minutes per game for RWE.

Going into Saturday’s announcement, there is no clear-cut leader. All four options appear to be on the table. We’ll find out where he’s headed in a little over 24 hours.
