Keeneland's fall meet ticket sales delayed after a website glitch

Keeneland’s fall meet tickets were supposed to go on sale at 9 a.m. Tuesday, but things quickly went off track. (Pun intended.) First, the long-awaited ticket release was delayed by an hour to 10 a.m., and then the sale was postponed altogether to Wednesday at 9 a.m. after horse racing fans encountered website issues.
Some fans were on as early as 8 a.m., coffee in hand and calendars marked, only to have their tickets stuck in virtual limbo when the ticketing website crashed. I know because I’m one of “some fans,” part of the large crowd frustrated by Keeneland’s latest hiccup. The combination of high demand and what seems like an overloaded system made for a stressful morning for anyone hoping to secure seats for the fall meet.

Keeneland offered an apology on its website, saying, “Keeneland extends our sincere apologies for the inconvenience our fans experienced this morning with the sale of Fall Meet tickets. To avoid any further disruption, the public ticket on-sale date has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 9 a.m. ET. We value our fans’ continued support and appreciate your patience as we work to ensure a smooth ticketing process.”
Keeneland Fall 2025 meet
Keeneland’s fall meet begins with live racing on Friday, October 3, and continues through Saturday, October 25, with Mondays and Tuesdays off. This year, Keeneland’s fall meet coincides with two of Kentucky’s home football games: marquee opponents and large traveling fan bases in Texas and Tennessee coming to town.
