Another football season means another another UK Athletics Hall of Fame class. We learned who would be included in that group on Wednesday night when the university announced its six-person class on “BBN Tonight”.

Some big names will be honored this fall.

Abbey Cheek-Ramsey (softball), Makayla Epps (women’s basketball), Doug Flynn (baseball/men’s basketball), Sonia Hahn (women’s tennis), Josh Hines-Allen (football), and Karl-Anthony Towns (men’s basketball) will be officially inducted during Hall of Fame Weekend on September 12-13. That is the same weekend as the Week 3 home football game against Eastern Michigan.

Cheek-Ramsey was the 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association National Player of the Year, the 2019 NFCA First Team Unanimous All-American, and the 2019 SEC Player of the Year.

Epps earned three separate All-SEC honors and some All-American recognition during her time in Lexington. The daughter of former Kentucky point guard Anthony Epps ranks sixth in UK women’s basketball history with 1,790 points.

Flynn played baseball and basketball at UK before an 11-year career in MLB. The second baseman won two World Series titles with the Cincinnati Reds and claimed a Gold Glove in 1980.

Hahn was two-time singles All-American and a two-time doubles All-American at Kentucky. The women’s tennis star won the SEC No. 1 singles title in 1987.

Hines-Allen was the National Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 and a unanimous All-American before being selected in the top-10 of the 2019 NFL Draft. The outside linebacker is still UK’s all-time sack leader.

Anthony-Towns was a second-team All-American who played for Kentucky’s 2014-15 team that went undefeated in the regular season. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft has been a five-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection.

The class of 2025 is star-studded. A big weekend will arrive in the Bluegrass when these six individuals are enshrined by UK.
