Kentucky and Toledo Slugged It Out for a 10-2 First Half

If you were looking for a pair of high-powered offenses, you shouldn’t have come to Lexington, Kentucky. The Wildcats and the Rockets from Toledo engaged in a slobber-knocker that was filled with as many turnovers as explosive plays.
Kentucky and Toledo combined for 199 yards of offense. The Rockets had zero plays of 15+ yards and got their only two points off a safety. Kentucky’s only long play went to Willie Rodriguez, who fumbled it at the end of the play.
The Cats did manage to get a pair of fourth-down stops, and Steven Soles was exceptional in the pass rush with a pair of strip sacks. Outside of that, it was a pretty ugly half for the home team.
