Kentucky falls out of Top 10 of AP Poll following loss to Vanderbilt
As expected, Kentucky fell out of the top ten of both the AP and Coaches Polls after the loss to Vanderbilt. The Cats are No. 12 in the new AP Poll, down three spot from No. 9. They are also No. 12 in the new Coaches Poll. Vanderbilt is now ranked in the AP Poll, coming in at No. 24; Tennessee, tomorrow’s opponent, is down two spots to No. 8.
Auburn remains the No. 1 team in the land, receiving all 62 first-place votes. The rest of the top five remained the same: 1. Auburn, 2. Duke, 3. Iowa State, 4. Alabama, 5. Florida. Fourteen ranked teams lost last week, so the rest of the Top 25 is all shook up. With Vanderbilt joining the fray, there are now ten SEC teams in the Top 25, with Texas also receiving votes.
Wildly enough, Kentucky is also No. 12 in the latest AP Women’s College Basketball Poll. Something about that number for the Cats and the basketball gods this week.
