Ladies of BBN, you’re in for a treat. Mark Pope and his wife, Lee Anne, just announced that the second annual Hoops and Heels event will take place on Friday, October 3, from 5-7 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the players, tour the locker rooms, and win prizes. They’ll also be able to watch the team practice, the best perk of all. If you go, wear comfortable attire and athletic shoes, as you’ll be invited to participate in activities and presentations with coaches and players.

“We’re thrilled to host the second annual Hoops and Heels event with Kentucky Basketball,” Mark Pope tweeted this morning. “Back and better than ever in Historic Memorial Coliseum. Lee Anne & the Pope Girls have a night full of surprises planned. You won’t want to miss it!”

Registration is now open to fans of all ages at $50 per person. That’s a $41 base plus $9 for “The Assignment,” a Mark Pope-approved breakdown. Proceeds from the event will go to the Markey Cancer Foundation. Autograph basketballs will be available for purchase during the registration process. Balls will be priced at $50.

Registration will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Participants should enter the main entrance of the Joe Craft Center to register. For more details, visit UKAthletics.com.

If you’d like to know more about the event, I’ll direct you to former KSR intern Katie Hutchison’s recap from last year. Fans got one-on-one time with the players and the Popes, including their four daughters. One lucky fan even got to take home a one-of-a-kind Hoops and Heels Kentucky jersey. This year, the event moves to Memorial Coliseum, which should make it an even more intimate affair, with attendees getting a firsthand look at the facility’s ongoing makeover.
