Kentucky up to No. 20 in Andy Katz's Power Rankings

Kentucky failed to get votes in either the AP or Coaches Polls last week. We’ll find out if wins over Ole Miss and Florida change that when the new polls drop here in just a bit, but at least one national media member put the Cats in his rankings this morning. Kentucky is No. 20 in Andy Katz’s Power 36 rankings today. Last week, the Cats were No. 29.
“The Wildcats have figured out how to win late games now and are suddenly 7-3 in the SEC, a game out of second,” Katz wrote.
Only one of Kentucky’s remaining opponents is in Katz’s Power 36: Tennessee at No. 3. Auburn, No. 25 in last week’s AP Poll, and Arkansas, which received votes, are nowhere to be seen.
Elsewhere among the national media, Seth Davis didn’t include Kentucky in his Top 25, but the Cats are eighth among the “Almost Famous” teams that didn’t make the cut.

“Kentucky still only has one Quad 1 win (a really good one at Tennessee), but six of its remaining eight games are in Quad 1.”
I outlined those Quad 1 opportunities for you earlier today. The first one is tomorrow night vs. Arkansas at Rupp Arena.
