Kentucky can't hit a shot and trail Indiana at the half

Jack PIlgrimby: Jack Pilgrim5 hours ago

So, uh, Kentucky just might not be any good? It’s not that we’ve seen anything up to this point in the season to prove otherwise, but goodness, things sure aren’t getting any better. This time, it’s the Wildcats trailing Indiana 39-32 at the half — and they’re lucky it’s not worse, considering the Hoosiers aren’t shooting all that great at just 3-14 from three for a hit rate of 21.4 percent.

It’s just that Mark Pope built a team incapable of making shots or running any sort of tolerable offense, for that matter.

This group is shooting just 32.1 percent from the field, 11.1 percent from three and 61.9 percent at the line compared to 41/21/95 splits for IU. Mo Dioubate and Kam Williams lead the way with five points apiece, followed by Denzel Aberdeen, Jaland Lowe and Trent Noah with four, Malachi Moreno with three and Brandon Garrison with two.

As for the winning side, unfriendly face Lamar Wilkerson went for 12 points on 4-7 shooting and 2-4 from three in 11 first-half minutes, limited with three fouls. Tucker DeVries has added nine points, followed by seven apiece from Tayton Conerway and Nick Dorn.

Take a look at the box score (or don’t, because it’s ugly).

Please. We’re begging. Fix it. We can’t take this much longer. We’re going to explode.
