Kentucky is in hot pursuit of one of Florida’s top high school prospects.

On Sunday afternoon, it was first revealed by Ryan Wright of Rivals that four-star class of 2023 linebacker Jaden Robinson is down to just four potential college choices. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound product out of Lake City, FL is considering Kentucky, South Carolina, Michigan, and Maryland. Robinson is regarded as the No. 377 overall ’23 recruit and 73rd best player from the state of Florida, according to the On3 Consensus.

“I was just there and I made a good connection out there, too,” Robinson told On3’s Sam Spiegelman about UK. “I like Coach (Mark) Stoops and they showed me how they were losing linebackers and they were talking business — all about recruiting.”

Robinson has taken official visits this month to three of his top four schools. He visited Maryland first (June 10) before making a stop at Kentucky (June 17) and then to South Carolina (June 24) this past weekend. Robinson has yet to OV at Michigan, although one is expected this fall with a decision coming after.

Before Robinson even arrived in Lexington for his official visit, his recruitment was viewed as a battle between the Wildcats and Gamecocks. He’s been to both campuses for unofficial visits, as well. That being said, don’t discount Michigan as a serious possibility.

Kentucky’s new inside linebackers coach Mike Stoops has recruited the state of Florida for a very long time and is now mining the area for talent that Kentucky can use. Meanwhile, Florida has long been a territory that the South Carolina program has depended on. Last year, Beamer’s staff inked four players from the Sunshine State and has three more committed in the class of 2023.
