The ‘Cats are in the mix with a talented defensive back out of Georgia.

According to On3’s Jeremy Johnson, Robert Billings, a three-star class of 2023 safety, is down to eight potential college choices: Clemson, Duke, Florida State, North Carolina, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Kentucky. Clocking in at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, the Alpharetta (GA) Milton product is considered the 538th best player in his class, the 48th best safety, and 52nd best from the state of Georgia, per the On3 Consensus.

“I think these eight schools can help me in my future in terms of education and get me better as a person,” Billings told On3. “I feel like the relationships I have with these coaches in these programs can make me better.”

Billings received his offer from Kentucky back in late January, which came from defensive line coach Anwar Stewart. January was a significant month for the rising senior, as he hauled in offers from the likes of Florida State, Louisville, Duke, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Oregon, and the ‘Cats. Billings holds additional offers from schools such as Missouri, Miami (FL), Georgia, and Virginia.

Here’s what he told On3 about Kentucky and Florida State:

Kentucky and Florida State: “It’s my relationship with the position coaches. Coach Frank (Buffano) at Kentucky and coach Marcus Woodson at Florida State are great.”

Clemson offered Billings in early March while on a visit and the Tigers appear to be the early favorite. That being said, he called Michigan his “dream school” when the Wolverines offered him a few weeks later. Billings took a visit to Ole Miss, his very first Divison I offer, in early April. North Carolina is the most recent school to offer (May 6) but still made his top eight.

Billings told On3 that he does not have any official visits locked in right now, but he’s been talking with Clemson, Duke, and Michigan about setting them up. He is allowed five official visits. He later told KSR that he has not visited Kentucky’s campus yet, but plans to this summer, whether it be an official or unofficial visit.
