Kentucky has 21 players verbally committed in the class of 2024. There’s not a whole lot of wiggle room to add more players into the fold. Pursuing the best options available, offensive line coach Zach Yenser is seeking out a couple talented prospects to join the Cats’ class in the eleventh hour.

Andrew Dennis shared Tuesday afternoon that he has received a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky. Dennis is a 6-foot-4, 285-pound interior offensive lineman from Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

A four-star talent, he’s the No. 24 interior offensive lineman in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. Dennis is just outside of the Top 300 at No. 329 overall.

Dennis spent most of the calendar year committed to Michigan State. Following Mel Tucker’s termination, he decided to reopen his recruitment Oct. 16. Kentucky is not the only one pursuing the talented offensive lineman.

Over the last two weeks Utah and Clemson have also extended scholarship offers to Dennis. Three other schools — Penn State, Purdue and Illinois — were in the mix before he pulled the trigger and decommitted. On3’s Sam Spiegelman reports Dennis plays to be in Happy Valley when Penn State hosts Michigan and an official visit to Clemson is in the works.

Kentucky has to play quite a bit of catch-up in the recruitment of Andrew Dennis, but there’s one thing the Wildcats offer that none of the competition does: a chance to play in the SEC. We’ll find out how much more it means if Kentucky can become a significant player in his recruitment over the final six+ weeks of the recruiting calendar year.

Cam Dooley Reopens Recruitment, Kentucky Lurking

A familiar name is back on the market. Kentucky was one of three SEC schools Cam Dooley officially visited over the summer. Dooley initially decided to commit to Missouri over Vandy and the Cats, but he’s having second thoughts.

On Tuesday afternoon the defensive back turned Eli Drinkwitz’s Halloween into a nightmare on recruiting street by decommitting from the Tigers. The answer to the question in his announcement could be “Kentucky.” Another Yenser recruit, Dooley recently took a very quiet trip to Lexington to watch the Wildcats at Kroger Field. There might be another plan in the works to visit Kentucky (that you can learn about on KSBoard). If the Cats play their cards correctly, they could secure a flip from a 6-foot-4 safety in the near future.
