Let’s keep things in perspective a bit: Kentucky is still widely considered a top 20 team in the nation. Even if the ‘Cats haven’t done a good job of proving it the last two outings, the national media still believes in UK.

On Sunday afternoon, the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll was updated to reflect the results of Week 9 in college football. Kentucky, following its 31-17 loss to Mississippi State on Saturday, fell five spots from No. 12 to No. 17 in the latest Coaches Poll.

Late last night, ESPN’s updated Power Rankings also tabbed Kentucky at No. 17.
