Kentucky football’s official visitor list for June continues to grow.

Elijah Groves, a multi-positional athlete out of Cross Plains, TN, told KSR on Wednesday that he will officially visit Kentucky the weekend of June 9. Additionally, KSR has also learned that three-star EDGE Makai Byerson out of Richmond, VA will use an official visit on Kentucky for the weekend of June 16.

Both weekends expect to be vitally important for the Wildcats’ recruiting efforts. The staff has loaded up those stretches with roughly two dozen four- and three-star recruits spread between the two weekends. Groves and Byerson are just the latest to join the still-expanding list.

Starting with Groves, Kentucky is one of two official visits that he has locked in. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound ATH will also stop at Purdue this weekend (June 2-4). The Boilermakers offered him not long ago in early May but wasted no time locking Groves in for an OV. He’s also earned offers from Virginia Tech and NC State this spring, although no visits have been scheduled at this time to either.

Interestingly enough, Groves has not announced an offer from Kentucky, but that didn’t stop the staff from wanting to get him on campus. He appears to be a late-bloomer on the recruiting trail, with all three of his Power 5 offers coming in the last couple of months. Groves is not currently ranked by any of the four major recruiting services. Don’t be shocked if he leaves Lexington with a scholarship in hand, though.

As for Byerson, he’s considered a three-star recruit and the No. 698 overall prospect from the class of 2024, per the On3 Industry Ranking. Kentucky defensive coordinator Brad White offered him back in Sept. 2022 and the two sides have stayed in contact ever since. He clocks in at 6-foot-3, 235 pounds for Manchester (VA) High School, where he doubles as an All-Region basketball player on the hardwood.

Along with his OV to UK, Byerson has four total official visits scheduled for June. He’ll first stop at West Virginia (June 2-4) before heading to Rutgers (June 9-11) and then to Lexington to check out what the Wildcats have to offer. Byerson will finish off his run of visits with a trip to nearby Virginia Tech (June 23-25).

Back in February, Byerson announced a top eight list on Twitter, which included Virginia, Tennessee, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Kentucky. All eight have offered, but only the latter four will receive official visits in June.
