Availability Report: The Latest Ahead of Kentucky vs. Ole Miss

The penultimate SEC Availability Report for the league’s opener has arrived. As you might suspect, there weren’t too many major shake-ups for Kentucky or Ole Miss.

A Kentucky starter has been downgraded on the eve of the matchup. Cornerback DJ Waller was considered probable until this evening. Now he’s given the “doubtful” tag, which means there’s only a 25% chance he’ll play tomorrow.

Two more players were ruled out. The embattled running back Jamarion Wilcox will not play as he deals with multiple legal issues. We’ll have to wait at least another week for the debut of DJ Miller, the highly sought-after true freshman wide receiver.

The good news for Kentucky? Mi’Quise Humphrey-Grace has been removed from the injury report and is expected to be in the starting lineup on Saturday afternoon.

The most noteworthy injury news for the opponent is at the tight end position. Even though the Rebels will be without Luke Hasz, a transfer from Arkansas, Dae’Quan Wright was removed from the availability report on Thursday. Wright caught four passes for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Rebels’ blowout win over Georgia State last weekend. One to keep an eye is WR Caleb Cunningham, who was a big win for the Rebels on the recruiting trail last fall.

DB Jaylon Braxton was a late scratch in week one due to a “medical issue.” That issue is persisting as he has been downgraded to out. He was expected to play starter’s snaps for the Ole Miss defense.

Players must be listed as out (0% chance to play), doubtful (25% chance to play), questionable (50% chance to play), or probable (75% chance to play). One final availability report will be released one hour prior to kickoff.
