On Saturday morning, ESPN’s “College GameDay” returned to the airwaves. The world-famous pregame show discussed a multitude of topics to get us college football consumers ready for Week Zero.

Kentucky football was one of the many teams discussed.

When it came time to pick some potential sleepers for the College Football Playoff, Kirk Herbstreit, David Pollack, Rece Davis, and Desmond Howard gave their respective choices. Penn State, Ole Miss, and Kansas State were among those teams listed.

Former Michigan wideout and Heisman Trophy winner Howard is rolling with the Big Blue.

“I like Kentucky. I think Kentucky has a chance to be a sleeper team,” Howard said. “Especially if you look at their quarterback Will Levis. I think in March he’s going to start climbing up the draft boards. Offensively, they brought in a new OC named Rich Scangarello. If you like the 49ers offense, you’re going to love what he’s going to bring to Lexington.”

The hype continues for Mark Stoops and his program. With eight home games and only one contest where Kentucky will be a clear underdog, there are high expectations in the Bluegrass. At SEC Media Days, the Wildcats did not hide away from their ultimate goal which is to win the SEC East and make it to Atlanta for the conference championship game.

That buzz continued on Saturday on the biggest college football show on the planet.

“I’m going with the University of Kentucky as my sleeper team,” said Howard.
