Kentucky is a 3-Score Favorite Over Tennessee Tech

The rhythm of the week is a little off, and not just because the Cats lost a rivalry basketball game. A normal part of our Kentucky football routine was removed from the equation.
The final home game of the 2025 season is Saturday afternoon against Tennessee Tech. When FBS teams play FCS foes, Vegas does not post the spreads on Sunday afternoon. They let the cake bake a little longer before releasing a line. You still can’t find it everywhere, but we’ve found at least a few places with a number to handicap this matchup.
Kentucky opened as a 20.5-point favorite over Tennessee Tech. You probably need to hustle to get that number. In a couple of available markets, it’s already up to 21.5.
The total is 52.5. That is roughly a projected final score of 36.5-16. The SP+ power ratings are giving the Golden Eagles much more credit. Each week, ESPN’s Bill Connelly ranks all 766 teams that play college football. Even though they’re in the FCS, Tennessee Tech is just outside of the Top 100 at No. 104. The SP+ projected spread is Kentucky -14.

Kentucky has covered the spread in three of the last four games. Over bettors have cashed tickets in six of nine Kentucky football games.
Tennessee Tech enters this contest undefeated and on a 15-game winning streak. The Golden Eagles have the highest-scoring offense and the fourth-best defense in the FCS. This will be their first contest against an FBS foe in 2025, but they did cover the spread twice last fall in losses to Georgia and Middle Tennessee State.
