Kentucky’s only commitment (Jarvis Strickland) is an offensive tackle. That position is once again a high priority one for the program. Offensive line coach Eric Wolford has plenty of official visits lined up for tackle prospects this month. But two of those targets came of the board on Saturday.

Tyler Duell and Tyrell Simpson each decided to pledge to the Big Ten school in New Jersey during their official visit in Piscataway.

Duel had additional future official visits locked in with Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. Simpson had a future visit scheduled with Virginia Tech. Both players are now off the board as they joined the 2026 high school recruiting class at Rutgers this weekend.

Where will Kentucky turn to next? The answer could still be in Lexington. Charlie Edgeworth and Cameron Miller were both in Lexington this weekend for official visits. Can the Cats wrap either of these recruitments up? We should find out soon.

Recruiting is always very fluid but that is evident even more at this time of years when schools push hard for commitments during these official visits. Quite often, those commitments lead to canceling previously scheduled official visits. That could be the case here for both Duell and Simpson.

Expect news to develop rapidly as college football teams build recruiting classes over the next month. Rutgers made a big move over the weekend. Kentucky needs to make a big move soon with so many open spots available in the program’s 2026 high school class.
