Kentucky adds 2024 long snapper Trent Baker

The late signing period begins on Wednesday. Things will likely be quiet for the University of Kentucky football program but the Wildcats are typically good for one surprise or two. On signing day eve, Mark Stoops’ program landed another player to add to the roster in 2024.
Friendswood (Texas) High senior long snapper Trent Baker committed to Kentucky on Tuesday. The Lonestar State native will be a true freshman in 2024 and is rated as one of the top high school long snappers in the country. Baker will be signing with the Wildcats during a ceremony at his school on Wednesday.
“The amazing opportunities that Kentucky has to offer me and the amazing city the university is in,” Trent Baker told KSR about what he liked about the Wildcats during the recruiting process.
“I see myself being someone who they don’t have to worry about or stress when I go out there. They talked about what my role would be and the competition I had in front of me.”

Kentucky currently has 21 high school prospects in its 2024 signing class, but that list could be growing by a couple on Wednesday as the coaching staff at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility looks to put the finishing touches on this cycle’s recruiting haul.
Second-year special teams coordinator Jay Boulware is still working to add depth at all the specialist positions. One year after signing starter Walker Himebauch, the Wildcats are back on the trail looking for more long snapping help.
