Kentucky football is now ranked No. 13 in both the Coaches Poll and the Associated Press Poll.

Shortly after the Coaches Poll dropped the Wildcats nine spots to No. 22 in the country, the AP Poll did the same. Kentucky is now tied with Texas for No. 22 in the updated AP Poll. UK is coming off a disappointing 24-14 loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday night at Kroger Field.

Kentucky’s next matchup is this Saturday against Mississippi State, which moved up seven spots to No. 16 in the latest AP Poll. The ‘Cats will host the Bulldogs at Kroger Field with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST on the SEC Network.

Kentucky is one of six Southeastern Conference programs ranked among the Top 25. Georgia is the new No. 1 after leapfrogging Alabama, which fell two spots to No. 3 despite beating Texas A&M 24-20 over the weekend. Tennessee moved up two spots to No. 6 following a 40-13 win over previously No. 25 ranked LSU while Ole Miss remained at No. 9. MSU at No. 16 and UK at No. 22 round out the SEC’s ranked programs.

Earlier on Sunday, the Wildcats were knocked completely out of ESPN’s updated Power Rankings, falling from No. 13 to unranked. Kentucky’s projected win-loss total according to ESPN’s Football Power Index is now 6.7-5.3 after hovering around 8.0-4.0 for the majority of the 2022 season. The ‘Cats still have an 88.3 percent chance to meet the six-win threshold, but the odds of winning the SEC East have cratered to just 0.3 percent.
