Kentucky has been strong road underdog under Mark Stoops

Kentucky is hitting the road for the first time this season in Week 5. The Cats will play in front of a raucous crowd under the lights at Williams-Brice Stadium. South Carolina is 7-2 all-time in SEC night games under Shane Beamer. This is typically a spot where the Gamecocks play well. It’s also a spot where Kentucky has performed its best under Mark Stoops.
During his long tenure in Lexington, many of the best wins under Stoops have occurred on the road. During his 13-year stint, UK is 19-14 against the spread (ATS) as a road dog. The Cats enter the 2025 season on a very hot run playing away from Kroger Field.

Kentucky is 8-3 ATS in its last 11 games as a road underdog with four outright upset wins. Three of those victories occurred against ranked opponents. Kentucky lost outright as a small underdog in their last trip to Columbia but pulled off upset wins in 2015 and 2017. The Cats also won and covered as a small favorite in 2021 at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Could UK pull off another upset and continue this strong road trend in Week 5. The Cats are currently a 5.5-point underdog.
