Sadly, all the progress Kentucky made vs. Tennessee, specifically on defense, seems for naught so far at Rupp Arena. After 20 minutes of play, Kentucky trails Georgia 42-34.

All you need to know is that the Bulldogs are making 55.6% (15-27) of their shots from the floor and the Cats are only hitting 33.3% (11-33) of theirs. Kentucky is 2-7 (28.6%) from three. The Cats are winning the rebounding battle 20-16 and are 10-11 from the free-throw line, but still trail by 8. Oscar Tshiebwe is the lone Cat in double figures, with 14 points and 9 rebounds, but is only 4-11 from the floor. Terry Roberts leads Georgia with 13 points on 5-8 from the floor, 1-3 from the outside.

Cason Wallace picked up his second foul midway through the half and sat until the 2:15 mark. His three with 22 seconds left narrowed Georgia’s lead to single digits. After missing the Tennessee game with a shoulder injury, Sahvir Wheeler came off the bench and played 10 minutes, totaling three assists, a rebound, a steal, and a turnover. Zero Cats are in the positive in plus/minus efficiency.

More numbers below, if you want to see them. Better second half, please.
