As the No. 3 seed in the Clemson Regional, Kentucky actually has the second-best odds to win the entire event, according to PEARatings and College Baseball Insiders‘ statistical projections.

According to the PEARatings, the ‘Cats have a 23.6% chance to win the Regional. Clemson has the best odds at 46.2% and West Virginia has the third-best odds at 18.8%.

College Baseball Insiders’ projections share a similar sentiment, as they give Kentucky a 32.9% chance to win the Regional. Clemson has the best odds at 40.7%, with West Virginia once again with the third-best odds at 21.07%.

Kentucky is headed back to a Regional for the third consecutive season, but will be on the road for Regional play for the first time since 2014 (Lost in Ann Arbor Regional). With a Regional win this weekend, Kentucky would be headed to three consecutive Super Regional appearances for the first time in program history.

Nick Mingione, who spoke to the media following Monday’s Selection Show, highly believes in his team.

“We proved we can play with any team and every team and therefore if you can do that in the Southeastern Conference, you can beat the best teams and play with the best teams,” Mingione said.
