Kentucky High School Football Rankings: Quarterfinal Matchups

There were not many upsets last week in Round Two of the playoffs, but Week Three has some exciting matchups, including No. 7 Johnson Central traveling to No. 5 Corbin in a Top 10 quarterfinal in 4A.

Kentucky High School Football Top 25

1. Male – Antojuan Weathers rushed for 130 yards and two scores and Nic Schutte tossed three touchdowns in a 56-8 win over Bullitt East.

2. Lexington Christian Academy (LCA) – UVA commit Xavier Brown rushed for 171 yards and three scores on eight carries in a 61-13 win over Danville.

3. Boyle County – Quarterback Jagger Gillis ran for three scores and threw for another in an impressive 47-13 win over Lexington Catholic. 

4. St. Xavier – Jack Sivori ran for a touchdown and threw for another and Thomas Tafel accounted for the winning safety in a closer than expected 18-16 win over Manual.

5. Corbin – Seth Huff had four rushing touchdowns and Seth Mills added a pivotal pick-six in a 42-21 win over Lincoln County.

6. South Warren – Kobe Martin rushed for 130 yards and two scores and Caden Veltkamp threw two touchdowns in a 28-3 victory over rival Bowling Green. There will be a new state champion in 5A.

7. Johnson Central – The Golden Eagles rushed for 382 yards in a 50-14 win over Letcher Co Central.  Quarterback Grant Rice rushed for 120 yards and three scores and also passed for a touchdown.

8. Beechwood – Reigning Mr. Football quarterback Cam Hergott accounted for five touchdowns and Parker Mason caught three passes for 124 yards and two scores in a 48-0 shutout of Covington Holy Cross. 

9. Woodford County – The Yellow Jackets threw only one pass but dominated on the ground to force a running clock in the first half of a 51-16 win over West Jessamine. Preston Stacy rushed for 171 yards and two scores.  Jackson Geilear tallied 15 tackles and also rushed for a touchdown

10. Frederick Douglass – Kentucky commit Ty Bryant had rushing, receiving, and defensive touchdowns in an impressive 48-7 blowout over Scott County.

11. Christian Academy Louisville (CAL) – Defeated Mercer County 43-7

12. Owensboro – Defeated Graves County 43-0

13. Trinity – Defeated Ballard 40-0

14. Manual – Lost to St. Xavier 16-18

15. Daviess County – Defeated Henderson County 51-28 – Quarterback Joe Humphreys had six touchdowns

16. Pikeville – Defeated Hazard 28-6

17. Southwestern – Defeated Pulaski County 27-7

18. Lexington Catholic – Lost to Boyle County 13-47

19. Covington Catholic – Defeated Conner 35-14

20. Mayfield – Defeated Murray 55-6

21. Madison Central – Defeated Bryan Station 40-18

22. Ryle – Defeated Dixie Heights 36-7

23. Glasgow – Defeated Taylor County 48-13

24. Bardstown – Defeated LaRue County 42-7

25. Franklin County – Defeated Central 14-8
