Kentucky invites public to Will Stein's introductory press conference on Dec. 3
It’s Will Stein Time in Lexington, and Big Blue Nation is invited to the party.
As Kentucky did for Mark Pope when he was introduced as head coach of the Wildcats last spring, Stein’s press conference will be open to the public this week, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. ET with doors opening at 3 p.m. ET.
The introduction will take place at Nutter Field House with the entrance located near Gate 1 and parking available all around Kroger Field. Fans are asked to arrive early as space is limited.
Stein joins UK AD Mitch Barnhart and President Eli Capilouto among those on the docket for Wednesday’s presser.
“Will Stein brings an outstanding track record of developing elite quarterbacks and leading some of the most dynamic and successful offenses in college football,” Barnhart said of the newest head coach. “His deep connection to Kentucky, having grown up attending games in our stadium, gives him a unique passion for this program and this community. We are thrilled to have him leading the Wildcats onto the field next fall.”

“Will Stein brings two invaluable qualities to the table as the next head coach of the UK football program,” Capilouto added. “He is an outstanding developer and coach of young talent, something he has proven repeatedly in his career already as a quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator at an elite level. And he has a deep and abiding passion for this place. It runs deep with him and his family.”
The 36-year-old from Louisville returns to Kentucky from the University of Oregon, where he has been the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for three seasons.
Now, he’s ready to take over an SEC program that has proven it can win at the highest level in the league. Just how high can those heights be pushed? We’re about to find out.
