While the transfer portal is picking up new intriguing names by the day, a handful of high school seniors remain on the board and are looking to commit in the near future with the regular signing period set to begin on April 14.

One of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the class of 2021 still considering the Kentucky Wildcats? Four-star guard TyTy Washington, who decommitted from Creighton back on March 11.

After backing off his pledge, Kentucky emerged as one of the early schools to express interest, joining the likes of UCLA, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Texas Tech, Oregon, Texas A&M, Kansas and Oklahoma State in recent weeks. An offer is not yet on the table, but according to Rob Cassidy of Rivals.com, Kentucky remains as one of the top options in Washington’s recruitment.

In fact, Cassidy lists UK as the No. 2 school in contention, behind only Illinois.

The Wildcats, who haven’t offered but are in need of a point guard, wasted no time contacting Washington when news of his decommitment from Creighton broke. UK seems unlikely to land five-star target Hunter Sallis, who is expected to choose Gonzaga, so Washington would be a suitable replacement on that front.

If an offer arrives, expect John Calipari to be at the center of the Washington sweepstakes until the end. Making things official with an offer could catapult Kentucky to the top of this list.

Arizona State sits in third, followed by the likes of Oklahoma State, Duke, Kansas and Pitt, who are seen as “new (schools) on the radar.”

Washington, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound point guard out of Chandler, AZ, is considered the No. 30 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Rivals lists him as the No. 32 overall prospect in the class of 2021, while ESPN has him ranked No. 34 overall.

Will Calipari look to add another high school signee in the class of 2021 – he has just three right now – or will he look for experience in the transfer portal to round out next year’s roster?
