Kentucky Loses in Final Minutes of Opening Round

[caption id="attachment_178433" align="aligncenter" width="187"]11057215 Photo by UK Athletics[/caption]   The No. 21 Wildcats took on No. 5 Tennessee tonight in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament at Tiger Park in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Although they held the lead for most of the game, The Volunteers conquered the win in the final minutes. Offensively, many players had a notable game. Sylver Samuel and Maisie Steed each scored one run and two hits. Christian Stokes and Kara Howard contributed a run and Howard added a hit. Griffin Joiner and Erin Rethlake provided a hit and a RBI, and Nikki Sagermann added a hit. Defensively, Kelsey Nunley allowed six hits and three runs and Rethlake allowed just two runs.
