Kentucky Loses Series to Tennessee

Although Kentucky put up three tough matches, they lost all three games to Tennessee. The Wildcats were defeated 7-1 in the first game of the series. Brooklin Hinz scored the only run of the match and added a hit. Breanne Ray also provided a hit; Ansley Smith got one hit and one run, and Nikki Sagermann contributed two hits. Defensively, Meagan Prince allowed four hits and three runs. In the second game of the series, Kentucky lost in a close 6-5 game. Griffin Joiner scored a run, Maisie Steed got one run and two hits, and Sagermann added two runs and a hit. Ray had a big game by scoring a run, two hits, and three RBI. Christian Stokes provided two hits and Hinz added two hits and two RBI. Kara Howard contributed one hit. In the final game of the series, the Cats lost 4-1. Joiner had a big game and scored one run, one hit, and one RBI. Sylver Samuel also added two hits and Sagermann provided one. The SEC tournament begins on Wednesday in Baton Rouge, La. at Tiger Park.
