Kentucky made MASSIVE summer gains ahead of 2025-26 season

We were mostly joking about Jayden Quaintance‘s Transfer Sophomore 40 when Kentucky‘s official roster was updated to begin the fall semester, now coming in at 6’10.5″ and 255 pounds — up from 6’9″ and 215 pounds. Malachi Moreno was up 20 pounds while Kam Williams and Braydon Hawthorne were both up 15 apiece.
The post-summer numbers were all believable, but where did the original measurements come from? They were a little suspicious, to say the least.
Or were they? Yeah, probably, but at least we have proof now that massive gains were, in fact, made over the eight-week summer schedule.

As a team, the Wildcats gained 55 pounds of muscle collectively, improved their average jump height by two inches, average sprint speed by 1.1 miles per hour and upped their average lower body strength by 15 percent. Those stats were shared in a practice highlight clip by the team, which also included Jaland Lowe diving for a loose ball, Collin Chandler finding Malachi Moreno for an alley-oop, Trent Noah banging a three and Otega Oweh throwing down a lob.
Oh, and plenty of sprints. Lots and lots of sprints.
“There’s no way around it, just through it,” Mark Pope said. “Anything less than 100 percent is not acceptable. If you make this, your journey, about something bigger than just yourself, it’ll be the greatest thing in your life.”
Who else saw the biggest weight changes, up or down? Any other vertical growers?
