Griffin told ZagsBlog at the NY Catholic League Team Camp at Archbishop Molloy HS in July that he was "really interested" in the Kentucky program and its ability to develop players.
"I’m really interested in them so it would be nice to see them,” Griffin said of Kentucky. "That’s one of the things I like about them, is that they get them ready for the NBA the first year. That’s something I look forward to trying to do and just improve my game."This summer, Griffin suited up with the 2019 USA U16 National Team, who came away with a gold medal in Brazil. The newest Kentucky target averaged 13.5 points per game en route to a 6-0 record and the gold medal. As a sophomore at Archbishop Stepinac last year, the 6-foot-7 wing averaged 20.9 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.4 steals, and 3.5 blocks per contest. Griffin joins five-star prospects Jonathan Kuminga, Patrick Baldwin Jr., Paolo Banchero, Moussa Cisse, Jaden Hardy, and Devin Askew with Kentucky offers in the junior class.
