Maximo Adams first got in contact with the Kentucky staff on Tuesday. Now, he has an offer.

The 6-foot-7, 200-pound small forward from Sierra Canyon (Harbor City, CA) earned an offer from Kentucky on Wednesday during a call with Kentucky head coach Mark Pope and assistant coach Cody Fueger. Adams recently shared his thoughts on Kentucky during an interview with KSR+ at Peach Jam.

“It means a lot to get an offer from Kentucky,” Adams told KSR+. “Especially coming from Coach [Mark] Pope, who’s a great coach and runs a great program.”

Adams’ older brother, Marcus Adams, played for Pope at BYU during the 2023-24 season. Adams averaged 2.0 points per game during the 2023-24 season before transferring to Cal State Northridge.

“I think it’s a great program,” Adams said. “Mark Pope came from BYU, and my brother went to BYU. Then, he transitioned to Kentucky, and he’s a great coach.”

His Wider Recruitment

Maximo Adams continues to add more offers this summer. He recently told KSR+ that he’s hearing from the likes of Michigan State, Houston, Illinois, UCLA, USC, Oregon, and Kansas, among others.

“The recruiting process has been great,” Adams said. “I have a lot of colleges contacting me and reaching out.”

Adams’s only visit so far was to USC in late June. He plans to set up some more visits in the near future.

“We have to schedule some dates,” he said. “[I’m looking for] a place where I can fit in and play. I want to go somewhere I can get better and advance to the next level.”

Adams said he wants to make his college decision “most likely” next year. He wants to see how the high school season goes first.

Maximo Adams’ Game

Sierra Canyon (California) four-star small forward Maximo Adams is the nation’s No. 46 overall prospect according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services. Rivals ranks Adams as the No. 22 small forward and the No. 60 overall prospect in the 2026 class.

“I feel like I played well [at Peach Jam]. I got the opportunity to play my game and play well every time on the court,” Adams said. “It’s a great experience, of course, playing against all this competition and demonstrating my talent in front of all these coaches.”

Adams said he can guard multiple positions and rebound well. He can also knock down shots.

“I’m efficient and versatile,” he said.
