If there were ever any questions about whether or not a new offensive coordinator would turn Stone Saunders away from Kentucky, he’s been answering every single one of them exactly how the Big Blue Nation would want.

Saunders, who committed to Kentucky in August after being heavily courted by former OC Liam Coen, has already made it to Lexington twice this spring to meet with Coen’s replacement from Boise State, Bush Hamdan. Saunders was able to meet Hamdan in person for the first time in late March and then returned to campus for last weekend’s Spring Game.

Another visit to UK is already on the schedule, too. Saunders tells KSR he has locked in an official visit with Kentucky for June 7-9. The Pennsylvania product is a three-star prospect ranked No. 454 overall in the 2025 recruiting class, per the On3 Industry Ranking.

Despite a longstanding relationship between Coen and the Saunders family, Kentucky has been able to hold onto a commitment from Stone. His fast-building connection with Hamdan has played a key role in that.

I love Coach Bush. He was very impressive, the offense was very impressive,” Saunders told KSR after his trip to UK in late March. “And just him as a person in general, he just felt like a genuine person. I love the offense, loved him. And practice, the energy at practice was really good, too. It was a lot of fun.”

Saunders will join a couple of his future teammates for their official visit to Kentucky on the weekend of June 7-9. Running back Isaiah West and offensive lineman Tucker Kattus will also be in Lexington, along with a handful of four-star prospects.
