Kentucky is adding a new name to its big board. 2026 four-star forward Cam Williams is starting to hear from UK’s staff as the live period

The 6-foot-11, 200-pound power forward from St Mary’s (Phoenix, AZ) has been on Kentucky’s radar since the Adidas 3SSB session in Council Bluffs, Iowa, in May. Now, UK is joining a long list of schools in pursuit. He told Jamie Shaw of On3 and Rivals on Friday that Kentucky has been in contact recently.

“I like how they’re known for putting players in the league,” Williams told KSR+ about Kentucky in May. “They’re obviously one of the best programs in the country. I like Coach Pope. He seems like a great coach. I’ve never met him, and I haven’t done my research about him, but he’s obviously doing something right. It seems like a great situation that I’d like to be a part of.”

Williams is currently playing with the Compton Magic on the 3SSB Circuit. Kentucky head coach Mark Pope and assistant coach Cody Fueger watched Williams, along with his teammate, 2027 five-star Bruce Branch, in a game against Jalen Green Elite on Thursday.

Who Else is Involved?

Kentucky is far from the only school involved in Cam Williams’ recruitment. He’s set to take official visits to Texas (Sept. 3-5), Purdue (Sept. 12-14), Duke (Oct. 3-5), and USC (Oct. 11-12).

Williams recently told Joe Tipton of On3 and Rivals that he’s going to wait to commit. He also broke down what he’s looking for in a school.

“I’m going to be looking for a place where they give me an opportunity to play early. I don’t want anything given to me; I want to work for it, but I want the opportunity. And, I want a school that’s big into development, I don’t want to be out in a box; play the wing, go to play on the block, do a little bit of everything, you know?”

Williams is ranked by On3 as the No. 16 overall prospect in the 2026 class. He’s rated as the No. 3 power forward and the No. 3 overall prospect from the state of Arizona.
