Kentucky Was The First School to Call 2027 4-Star CG Martay Banes on Sunday

The 2027 recruiting cycle has officially started. As of midnight on Sunday, June 15, college coaches began reaching out to the class of 2027 recruits. Kentucky was no exception.
Martay Barnes, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound combo guard from Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy (Melbourne, FL), told KSR+ that Kentucky was the first school to call him at the start of the contact period. He received a call from Alvin Brooks III shortly after the contact period began.

Four-star guard Martay Barnes of Holy Trinity (FL) Episcopal Academy is the nation’s No. 29 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Barnes as the No. 46 player overall, the top-ranked combo guard, and the No. 6 overall best player in Florida.
