The 2027 recruiting cycle has officially started. As of midnight on Sunday, June 15, college coaches began reaching out to the class of 2027 recruits. Kentucky was no exception.

Martay Barnes, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound combo guard from Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy (Melbourne, FL), told KSR+ that Kentucky was the first school to call him at the start of the contact period. He received a call from Alvin Brooks III shortly after the contact period began.

It’s been a busy morning for Barnes. He already received an offer from South Carolina on Sunday, and schools have been calling him throughout the day.
