Another running back had career game against Kentucky

Kentucky’s run defense has been a pillar for this football program. We saw the pass defense struggle in 2023, but the Wildcats were able to lean on a strong run defense to help win games. A program strength in September has turned into a significant weakness in October/November.
Texas rushed for over 200 yards for only the second time in SEC play in Saturday’s 31-14 win at Darrel K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Quintrevion Wisner led the way. The sophomore set a new career-high with 158 rushing yards.
Wisner and Jaydon Blue combined to rush for 254 yards in the double-digit victory. The Texas tailback was not the only SEC rusher to have a career day against Kentucky.
Florida tailback Jadan Baugh set career highs in rushing yards (106) and rushing touchdowns (five) in a 48-20 win against Kentucky. The Gators rushed for 197 yards in the win. Auburn tailback Jarquez Hunter rushed for a career-high 278 yards on 12.1 yards per rush in a 24-10 win against Kentucky. The Tigers rushed for 326 yards in the win.

Four SEC opponents have rushed for at least 190 non-sack yards against Kentucky this season.
Run defense has become a big issue for this defense. Kentucky has not had standout D’Eryk Jackson in the lineup and that played a role against Auburn and Texas. Tennessee did not set career highs but Dylan Sampson did rush for 142 yards in the 28-18 win over Kentucky. Sampson has had only one better performance in SEC play.
Kentucky has many problems right now but the run defense is the most surprising.
