Bryson Howard was one of the more impactful and surprising players suiting up on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer. His buzzing recruitment is a reflection of that.

According to Sam Kayser of League Ready, Howard has locked in eight official visits for the coming months, one of them with the Kentucky Wildcats. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound product out of Frisco (TX) Heritage is considered a four-star talent and the No. 26 overall recruit from the 2026 class by the Rivals Industry Ranking. Below are his scheduled visits.

  • Texas A&M (August 29-30)
  • North Carolina (September 5-7)
  • Texas (September 12-14)
  • Duke (September 19-21)
  • Houston (September 26-28)
  • Kentucky (October 4-6)
  • UConn (October 17-19)
  • Tennessee (October 24-26)

One of the biggest stock risers this summer, Howard received an offer from Kentucky back in June. Assistant coach Mikhail McLean is his lead recruiter, but head coach Mark Pope and the rest of the staff have also been in touch.

Howard has already taken a few unofficial visits to see nearby schools such as Texas, Houston, and SMU. But his first high-major offer didn’t come until May. He’s blown up on the scene since then and now holds over 25 high-major scholarships. After being a regular presence at his AAU games during the summer, Kentucky is right in the thick of his recruitment.

“The way they play is exactly how I play,” Howard said of Kentucky in a recent interview with Jacob Polacheck of KSR+. “They get after it, they play hard, and that’s one of the main things I do. It was nice watching them. I enjoyed how they played.”

Suiting up for ProSkills on the EYBL circuit, Howard averaged 19.7 points, six rebounds, and 2.5 steals per outing across six games at Peach Jam earlier this month. He shot 50.6 percent from the field, 40.6 percent from deep, and 77.3 percent from the free throw line. Howard had three games of 20 or more points, along with two games with at least five rebounds and five steals.

“Howard is a connecting guard, able to fill in the holes on offense and play off others,” Rivals’ Jamie Shaw said of Howard’s performance at Peach Jam. “He got his team into sets, moved the ball, pulled gravity as he provided spacing, and he finished at the rim. The 6-foot-4 Howard plays a controlled and composed game. Where he shines the most might be on the defensive end. He has good length and athleticism and he really understands leverage allowing him to guard up and down a line up. There is a lot to like with Howard’s game.”

Howard is the son of Josh Howard, who played in the NBA from 2003-2012 and was named an NBA All-Star in 2007 as a member of the Dallas Mavericks. The younger Howard is one of six 2026 recruits currently scheduled to officially visit UK between now and mid-October.
