There are Kentucky vs. South Carolina slugfest expectations for a reason

Kentucky and South Carolina will play for the 34th consecutive season on Saturday night in Columbia. This has been an SEC series decided by streaks with the Gamecocks winning 13 of 14 followed by the Cats winning 7 of 8. This has also been an SEC series known for rock fights.
In a game that is very important for both sides, we already know what kind of game to expect. Both of these programs have a type. The first one to 17 points typically wins when these two programs meet on the gridiron.

Since UK won a 45-38 shootout to give Mark Stoops his first big win at Kentucky back in 2014, these teams have consistently played a certain type of game. The under has been a fruitful wager with a 9-1 record over the last 10 meetings. Only the meeting in 2020 has gone over the game total. This has been a rock fight series.
Points are often at a premium when the Cats face South Carolina. That will likely be the case against at Williams-Brice Stadium where a South Carolina offense that hasn’t scored more than two offensive touchdowns in a game this season faces a UK offense that hasn’t scored more than two offensive touchdowns in 10 consecutive power conference games.
This is an under series.
