Kentucky Statistics (The Positive Kind)
By now I think most of us have learned about Kentucky’s not-so-impressive defensive stat sheet. The following are positive statistics for a select few Wildcats:
SEC Individual Rankings
Wide Receiver, Jeff Badet
-- 1st in Yards per Catch; 34.33
-- 2nd Long All Purpose Plays
Running Back, Boom Williams
-- 4th Yards from Scrimmage; 121.3 ypg
-- 3rd Long Scrimmage Plays
-- 4th Rushing; 113.67 ypg
Linebacker, Jordan Jones
-- 1st Total Tackles; 11.67 per game
Safety, Mike Edwards
-- 3rd Total Tackles; 9 per game
-- 3rd Passes Defended; 5
Cornerback, JD Harmon
-- Tied for 1st Interceptions; 2
Safety Blake McClain
-- Tied for 1st Interceptions; 2
Cornerback Derrick Baity
-- Tied 1st Interceptions; 2
Punt Returner Charles Walker
-- 1st Punt Return Yards; 33.7 per, 1 TD
As you can see there have been productive and significant contributions by individual players. Team statistics, specifically on defense, need to improve in order to provide a spark and a stop when it takes on South Carolina.
