Kentucky Students Get Free Admission To WEG This Saturday

For those of you that haven’t been around Lexington in the past 3 years, you may not have heard that the World Equestrain Games have invaded our fine city.  It hasn’t gotten much press on this site, mainly because John Wall wasn’t allowed in the Jumping event, but  it is a pretty huge thing for the city.  This is the first time the games have been held in the United States and countries from all over the world have come to watch and participate.

From what I’ve heard, though, the ticket sales have been a bit of a disappointment.  Because of this, Alltech (the sponsor of this years games,) gave tickets to all schools in Fayette county, but are now opening it up to University of Kentucky students this Saturday (according to Coach Cal’s Twitter.)  Students will have access to the exhibitions, shopping centers, and expos, as well as be able to watch the driving competition from 10:00 to 12:30.  I got the chance to check the games out this week, and it’s definitely worth doing if you don’t have plans for this Saturday yet.   So for all the Kentucky students, if you aren’t going to Keeneland or getting blacked out tailgating before the game (which starts at 7:30,) you should definitely check it out.  Free entrance with a student ID.
