Using NBA Jam rules, it’s now clear that Mark Pope is on fire. The new Kentucky head coach secured his third commitment in three days on Sunday night and he’s not slowing down anytime soon.

Lamont Butler was the first to join the fold. The announcement on Friday was a complete shock. The Big Blue Nation didn’t even know Kentucky was recruiting the San Diego State point guard. Pope followed it up with a commitment from Oklahoma guard Otega Oweh on Saturday. Andrew Carr was supposed to visit Villanova following an official visit to Kentucky. Instead, the Wake Forest forward shared he’s transferring to Kentucky.

Pope does not plan on cooling off anytime soon. Mountain West Player of the Year Great Osobor began an official visit to Kentucky on Sunday. We also learned that Pope has more travel plans on the docket.

CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander reports that Kentucky has a visit with Dayton transfer Koby Brea scheduled for Tuesday. It’s unclear if that visit is taking place with Brea in Lexington or at his home in New York.

Brea is the third-best available combo guard in the transfer portal, according to On3. The 6-foot-6 guard from New York spent the last four years playing with the Flyers. Last season he averaged 11.1 points per game while shooting 51.2% from the field and 49.8% from three-point land.

Brea has been a tough cookie for the Kentucky coaching staff to crack. The Wildcats were one of five finalists, but the sharpshooter only planned to officially visit Duke and UConn. The Duke official visit is scheduled to begin on Tuesday.

As we’ve learned over the last week, things move quickly in the transfer portal. We’ll see if Pope can stay hot as the calendar turns from April to May. You can hear from the Kentucky head coach when he joins Kentucky Sports Radio Monday morning at 11 am EST.
