Kentucky is again looking to upgrade the Big Blue Wall in the spring transfer portal after adding two transfers in December. A new target emerged on Sunday night.

After KSR’s Nick Roush reported that USC tackle transfer Courtland Ford will be visiting Kentucky this week, Wyoming offensive guard Emmanuel Pregnon was issued a scholarship offer by the Wildcats.

The class of 2020 recruit now has listed offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, UCLA, and Washington State. Pregnon (6-6, 318) will be a redshirt junior this season with three seasons of eligibility remaining.

A Denver native, Pregnon did not see the field at Wyoming until 2022 but immediately became one of the best offensive line players in the Mountain West. The former unranked recruit played 625 snaps for the Cowboys last season starting 11 games (10 at right guard, 1 at right tackle) logging a 73.9 PFF grade (74.0 run block, 70.5 pass block). That would’ve been the highest grade on Kentucky’s offensive line last season. Wyoming utilized a zone-heavy scheme and that could be part of the reason the Wildcats have entered this recruitment.

Some believe that Pregnon is currently the top available prospect in the transfer portal.

“When you look for an NFL caliber type of player, this is that,” an SEC personnel official told On3’s Matt Zenitz. “I feel like he’s got all the traits. He still has to become refined and still needs to develop a little bit more technique and learn to play through his hips, but I feel like this guy has a chance to start at guard, not just for us, but at a lot of schools. And everyone’s looking at o-linemen.”

Right tackle is the top priority for Kentucky in the transfer portal, but fixing overall offensive line depth is also a need. Adding Emmanuel Pregnon could add some intrigue to Kentucky’s right guard situation. However, the competition is steep for the Mountain West transfer.
