As a recruit, R.J. Adams was a significant recruit win for Kentucky in a top-25 recruiting class. The top-500 prospect picked the Wildcats over Penn State and NC State with a late decision before the December signing day. Alabama and Tennessee also showed heavy interest. Adams was named an Under Armour All-American and headed to Kentucky with high expectations.
In two seasons, R.J. Adams did not play in a game for the Wildcats and was running with the third team at center in an open practice setting this spring. The DMV native will head to Atlanta after some time spent in the transfer portal to play at Georgia Tech for head coach Geoff Collins who enters a must-win season in 2022.
