Kentucky VB Looks to Turn Perfect SEC Season Into Championship Run

The Kentucky Wildcats head into Sunday’s SEC Volleyball Tournament as the conference’s top seed, boasting a 22-2 overall record and an undefeated conference schedule, which showcased the team’s skill from the opening serve. Currently ranked second in the country, Kentucky was untouchable in the SEC, dominating through 15 league matches without a single loss.
Thanks to their No. 1 seed, Kentucky receives two byes, meaning they won’t see the court until Sunday at 12:00 p.m. ET (SEC Network). The Cats roll into postseason play with one of the most dynamic and versatile stat profiles in the league. Kentucky’s offense has been off the charts, hitting .289 as a team, piling up 1,266 kills, and overpowering opponents with unstoppable depth and tempo. When someone has been needed to step up, the Wildcats make it happen.
“You never know when your number’s going to be called,” said head coach Craig Skinner. “You always have to stay ready so you don’t have to get ready when the moment comes.”
The star of the offense is outside hitter Eva Hudson, who leads the team with 390 kills, a .316 hitting percentage, and 424.5 total points. Her ability to change the trajectory of a match with her elite skill has defined Kentucky’s season. The Purdue transfer was named SEC Player of the Year earlier this week.
Alongside her, All-SEC First Teamer Brooklyn DeLeye has been a persistent leader on both ends of the floor for the Wildcats. Posting 401 kills, 185 digs, and 29 aces, DeLeye has proved her stability and reliable scoring, which has helped keep Kentucky among the best of the best.

The frontline is led by Lizzie Carr with 102 block assists and a team-best .361 hitting percentage, while Kennedy Washington and Jordyn Dailey provide additional physicality and firepower, totaling a combined 75 blocks. Setter Kassie O’Brien, the SEC Freshman of the Year and All-SEC First Teamer, keeps the Cats’ balanced offense rolling, tallying 875 assists, and libero Molly Tuozzo consistently anchors the defense with an outstanding 328 digs.
With an undefeated SEC record, impeccable depth, and a roster full of players peaking at the right time, the Wildcats enter Sunday’s tournament as the clear team to beat.
“I always tell our team,” said Skinner. “Every time we step on the floor, it’s a chance to prove our worth. Sunday at noon is a chance to prove our worth.”
Now, Kentucky isn’t just chasing wins; they’re chasing a statement that people will remember. And if their regular-season supremacy is any indication, the Cats are set to ignite the SEC Tournament and make a championship run that no one will want to miss.
